"My Voice" is a song written and performed by Le Blanc and was released in 2015 on his album titled, The Dream. The song was the winner of a 2015 contest sponsored by United Way of Canada. When the hip-hop artist set out to create a music video to highlight the issue of homelessness in Edmonton, he wanted to give an unvarnished view of what life is like for people living on the street. So he chose this spot in front of the Mustard Seed to lay down his track.
“I’ve never been out on the street, thank God. But I’ve known people and even had family members who have been in that struggle before,” says Le Blanc.
LeBlanc said he felt compelled to highlight an issue that often goes ignored in Edmonton.
“I think it kind of gets swept under the rug. You tend to think it isn’t everywhere, but it is everywhere.”

"My Voice"
Lyrics
My Voice , Your Voice . No blind eyes this is our choice.
Cant Ignore their eyes cause the struggle is real. No shoes , no roof, no meal.
(x2)
verse 1
See some just grow old while others die in the cold.
futures often uncertain with stories often untold.
When societies allowed you to slip between the cracks, and all you asked for was some change but had no means to pay it back.
In a world of helter skelter, bounce from shelter to shelter.
Play the cards life dealt you when it seemed no one would help.
cause poverty can be at home or all around the air, it lingers everywhere with an attitude that spells : I Don't Care"
It became my choice as someone who makes noise,
to no longer sit back but act , and be their voice.
You thought it was just third world but it became much more, cause poverty still sits in Canada and is knockin at your door.
That person may seem strange when they askin for your change ,
But before your quick to blame, hear their story , ask their name.
cause the streets can be relentless and wash away the tears, so please don't let these voices go fall upon deaf ears.
Chorus
See, poverty it sees no age , gender, color or creed.
sometimes a little help is all you need to get on your feet.
its time for the re structure , social programs and a game plan.
put ourselves out in the rain an . it aint to late to save them.
some can only try and its a struggle to get by.
such a sad sight on a cold night and its a fight just to survive.
the underlying issues tend to never be addressed ,
like the addictions mental illness, past abuse and even stress.
determine cause, and the effect.
turn neglect into respect.
yes we all bleed the same color red, last tie I checked.
show compassion in these days , stand united in our ways.
equality and being true to every single word and phrase.
it could be me , it could be you but the bottom line is us .
and its a must , we put the trust within ourselves, with any luck.
now were hear to sing these words, and in the midst , the voice is heard.
let us demonstrate in hopes it resonates throughout the world.
Chorus
Bridge
Cause everybodys , just one wrong step away.
and maybe someday , we can all make that change.
Chorus w/ Choir
We are busy adding more songs relating to homelessness all the time
