Something about "My Home" :
I used to live in a small town where were no homeless people. Since I live in Brussels, there's homeless people everywhere. It moved me that so many people write on social media how much they support refugees, poor and homeless people, but walk passed them every day without even feeling any form of compassion. While I was walking through the city, around x-mas, a few years ago, and watched how thousands of people, shopping and buying presents, didn't even notice the many homeless people, sitting and begging in the same streets, I was inspired to write this song. I'm not a signed artist and I do not really care for wealth and fame, so I put all my songs on YouTube and FaceBook, hoping they move people. I'm very happy you like my song and I hope that, if you share it for the good cause, it makes extra people see that they're not alone on this world and that a good society is a caring society.

"My Home"
Lyrics
There's a place I can go to, a place to return to,
A place with my name on, a place I can call my own.
There's a fire that burns, every time I return
to the heart of that place, to my own little space called home.
There's a bird on a tree, singin' just for me.
And the neighbour says 'hi',everytime I arrive at home.
And it's pooring outside, but I don't need to hide.
And the rain plays a song on the windows of my home.
And it seems so obvious to me this is everyone's reality.
It's one big happy life inside but the walls around me make me blind
for those on the loose, for the ones on the run,
tryin' to hide from their pride in the dark of the night outside.
There's a place I can go to, a place to return to,
A place with my name on, a place I can call my own.
There's a fire that burns, every time I return to
the heart of that place, to my own little space called home.
There's a bloke on the street having nothing to eat,
having no one to turn to and no place to call his home.
And it's pooring outside but he's tryin' to hide
from the rain and the shame and the burnin' pain inside.
And what seems so obvious to me ain't everyone's reality.
It's one big happy life inside but the walls around me make me blind
for those on the loose, for the ones on the run
tryin' to hide from their pride in the dark of the night outside.
And they made their mistakes and they might have regrets.
Just like everyone else, nothing more nothing less.
We know they're outside but we tend to forget.
When their eyes try to catch us we turn our heads.
for those on the loose, for the ones on the run,
tryin' to hide from their pride in the dark of the night outside.
